1. Julie Armstrong—WINNER!

Congratulations to Julie Armstrong as our January 2023 ACE Award Winner!
RDCS (Cardiology) / Nominated by: Anna Walter, Ultrasonographer

I would like to nominate Julie Armstrong RDCS (Cardiology) for the ACE award.

She brings so much experience to this facility, and her experience plays a huge part of the echo department's success (hospital and staff)! I have enjoyed my time here and the growth I have experienced working with her. Jules has been a great coworker and mentor. She is willing to teach and is dedicated to our success by helping in any way she can. She is flexible and accommodating, helping with the schedule so I can make my kids games or have time off with family.

Jules has come in on her days off to assist with a heavy schedule and she has stayed late several times to accommodate patients' needs. She has trained me to do exciting things I didn't have the opportunity to at my last hospital. Our smooth transition into pediatrics is a testament to her knowledge and willingness to train and educate. I really feel Jules deserves this award and recognition!

2. Ryan Bichsel—RUNNER-UP!

RN (IMC) / Nominated by: Chantelle Herd, Resource Nurse

I would like to give a shout out to Ryan in IMC. He is orienting a new employee, but he has helped this contracted nurse a lot – not just today, for example helping admit a new patient from ED which she hasn’t done before. He always takes the time to train, is patient and thorough. It’s seems like he orienting two nurses not just one. Is there any way to give a kudos to him? I continue to see that he goes out of his way to assist in any capacity- not just staff but in patient care too, he is awesome!

3. Walker Orr—Honorable Mention!

RN / Nominated by: Krystall Nickerson, C.N.A Unit Sec, Med Surg (currently Internship in Boise)

I'd like to nominate Walker Orr. He goes above and beyond to help anyone who might need it. He's constantly running from hall to hall helping other nurses or aides. He has a great personality and gets along with everyone. He is always smiling!

4. Gary Fabbi—Honorable Mention!

OR (Surgery Dept. BYUI Clinical Instructor)

Gary Fabbi is an angel in scrubs! A woman came through our main entrance saying her baby was having trouble breathing. Gary just happened to be walking in behind her and heard what she said. He asked her to see the baby and immediately dropped his things and ran the baby and mom down to ER. His fast thinking and care for all patients needs to be praised. He saved the babies life – I am sure countless people are incredibly grateful. We should be proud Gary represents our team!
