A.C.E. Award Nominations
1. Pollyanne Walker—WINNER!
Congratulations to Pollyanne Walker our November 2022 ACE Award Winner!
Pollyanne is an RN in our Pre-Op/PACU department and was nominated by multiple of her coworkers this month. She always goes above and beyond in her care of patients and in her role as a supervisor. Pollyanne is a great team member and always puts time and effort into assisting her department in any way she can. She is truly a compassionate leader, co-worker and friend!
2. Michelle Hadley—RUNNER-UP!
Congratulations to Michelle Hadley our November 2022 ACE Award Runner Up!
Michelle is a CNA in our Med Surg department and was nominated by her fellow coworkers for her kind and compassionate efforts. Michelle always goes above and beyond by acknowledging her patients' feelings and helping them work through hard situations. She is truly an amazing asset to our team!
3. Thalia Vega—Nominee
C.N.A. Unit Secretary Med Surg Dept./Nominated by: Anna Walter
I would like to nominate Thalia Vega for the ACE Award. I went to a patient’s room to perform an ultrasound and the patient was very anxious and not sure she could tolerate the exam. Thalia recognized this, talked to her, and held her hand the entire time. She was very sweet with the patient, and it was apparent that the patient trusted her. After the procedure, the patient needed to be transferred to a different area- Thalia recognized her concern and I overheard her telling the patient who her new C.N.A’s would be, how great they were and that everything would be fine. – This to me is an example of going above and beyond doing her routine job. She showed compassion and made sure her patient felt comfortable and safe through her needed procedures. I am sure there were many other things that needed attention, but Thalia made the patient feel as if she was the most important priority. I always see Thalia smiling in the hallway and we are lucky to have her here!
4. Arilane Marcolino—Nominee
Housekeeping/Nominated TWICE by 2 separate employees: Angela Dunn & Racquelle Rosenburg
From Angie regarding Arilane: I would like to nominate Arilane in EVS for the ACE Award. Arilane is always helpful and very pleasant to staff and visitors. When she cleans – it looks and smells very clean! I have seen her wash walls, sweep the floors, move the couches to clean under and around. She always has a big smile on her face and greets everyone! She is working on learning a new culture and language – she is clearly grateful to be employed and it shows!
Racquelle says this about Arilane: She is so friendly and always makes a point to ask how you are doing – she wants to get to know you even though she is still learning the English language. I think this is impressive because I imagine she probably finds it difficult to reach out and speak to nurses, C.N.A’s and visitors. She is always in a good mood and makes me smile whenever I see her! She deserves to know we see and recognize her efforts!
5. Denielle Poling—Nominee
RT/Nominated by: Dr. Keely Kubly, MD
I would like to recommend Deni from Respiratory Therapy for the ACE Award! She is always aware of her patient’s status and needs- she is always on time to administer therapy and takes personal accountability for them. Deni bends over backwards to ensure they get their needed treatments. I even observed her trying to problem solve and make a nebulizer quieter because the noise bothered one of our patients. We know we can always count on her! I have had many moments when I thought I should remember the specific care she was providing so we could acknowledge she is making a difference! Simply put- our patients are in good hands and as a physician myself I feel she gives that added extra effort that makes our standard of care the best!
Our Previous ACE Award Winners!
