Quote of the Day
Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.
William Arthur Ward
Message from Administration:
Hello friends,
I wanted to take a quick second to tell you about some of the things we have been working on to continue the growth at IFCH.
We are working at adding in additional service lines in conjunction with our push for Time Sensitive Emergency (TSE) designations.
I am in the final stages of contract work with a tele-neurology company to help us with Stroke and inpatient rounding. Dr. Garland is very dedicated to our hospital and does a wonderful job but he is only one physician and cannot be everywhere at once. This should be in place within the next 30 days. We are also looking at bringing in neurosurgery and pediatrics. We are speaking with appropriate physicians to support those areas.
Our goal is continued growth in what we offer to our patients. We are working hard to find ways to work with our local doctors in a safe and smart manner.
This has been an interesting year so far. I knew that starting a new hospital was going to be an adventure for all of us. I don’t see an end in sight to the adventure. Thank you for being part of it!
- Casey

ACE Award Nominee
Gary is a Sous Chef in the Cornerstone Café. He also sits on the board for the Shelley Library. Gary decided that he could contribute to a brand new hospital opening it’s doors. He went to the board at the library and made arrangements for a small donation of close to 1000 books. These are now on the medical floor available for our patients while they are spending time here. We let the patient keep the books that they select to read while they are here and they love that because NOBODY likes to quit a good story half way through.
Gary also went back to the board when we decided to hold our “Feed the Need” events for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. Had another large donation of kids’ books available for our families in need. The kids were beyond excited to be able to pick out their own books. There were enough at both events for each child to not only get as many books as they wanted but to also get extras to give away as gifts.
I think that this selfless act promotes the culture we want to have at Idaho Falls Community Hospital and shows how acting outside their normal duties really is Accepting the Challenge of Excellence.
Parking Announcement
Effective immediately employees are allowed to park on the top level/uncovered area of our parking garage. Please park from the top down and do not park beyond the uncovered area.
Should you arrive at the top level and there are no more available parking spots, you are required to park in the employee parking lot on Valencia Drive. Employees are not allowed to park in any covered bays.

Fill the Digital Boot
I’m sure you’ve all seen our local IFFD firemen out on the street corners with their boots raising money for Muscular Dystrophy. This usually happens in the spring but COVID postponed that effort. They are moving forward with it now and it looks a little different this year. They are filling the boot digitally this year. Please see the attached flyer. You simply use your phone, scan the QR code and donate. PLEASE make sure that you fill in that you are donating for your company and fill in IDAHO FALLS COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. We have challenged Mountain View Hospital to a little fund raising competition. The good thing here is that the winner is the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Idaho Falls Community Hospital has pledged a match of up to $5000 for this event. For every dollar that they can raise through their various efforts we will match up to $5000, so let’s help make that happen!
The money is raised is used locally to help support patients and their families. This is a very debilitating disease that affects families as it is genetic. The money is used to purchase things like wheelchairs, walkers, etc. It is also used to help the families of patients to modify homes, provide transportation and other very valuable donations.
There is an actual boot that the managers will be passing around. This boot is just a reminder to donate digitally. Please do not put actual money in the boot. The fund raiser will go until next Friday.
Thank you in advance for giving!
