Idaho Falls Community Hospital has teamed up with Primary Children’s and the University of Utah’s Cardiology Division to offer pediatric cardiac services to our community.
Children have different health needs than adults, which is why pediatric cardiologists only focus on treating heart issues in children. Pediatric cardiologists tend to focus on treating unusual heart rhythms, problems with the heart’s formation and structural issues. Sometimes children are born with heart issues but sometimes issues can develop over time. These specialists are equipped to treat both.
At Pediatric Specialty Center, our team is proud to provide care in the following areas:
- Heart arrhythmias
- Heart palpitations
- Congenital heart disease
- Murmurs
- Chest pain
- Fainting or dizziness
- Elevated blood pressure and cholesterol
When you choose Pediatric Specialty Center, you can expect a caring and thorough cardiac evaluation. We have resources to perform diagnostic studies on site including ECG and echocardiography. Our relationship with Primary Children’s Heart Center allows for convenient and timely referrals for cardiac genetics, cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, the fetal heart program, heart transplant, interventional cardiology and pulmonary vascular disease program.
When to Seek A Referral
The first place to seek care is from your child’s pediatrician. If they believe your child needs attention from a cardiac specialist, they will refer you to one of the doctors on our team.
Before Your First Visit
Our team is here to make your visit with us as comfortable as possible. If we can answer any questions before you arrive, please give us a call at 208-528-1455. In the meantime, here are a few important things to keep in mind. Every child needs a parent or legal guardian to accompany them to their visit. Please bring a copy of your child's health insurance card and guardian's driver license.
To avoid any unexpected expenses, we encourage all of our families to verify their coverage with their health insurance company. Please check with your insurance provider to verify they cover the following location:
