Update to Visitor's Policy

Visitor's Policy

The health and safety of our patients, visitors, employees and community members continues to be a top priority for Idaho Falls Community Hospital. We’ve recently updated our visitor’s policy to respond to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in our community.

UPDATES TO VISITOR POLICY

Starting July 18, we are asking visitors to stay at home and not come to the hospital. Visitors will not be allowed in order to protect the health and safety of our patients. We know this change will be difficult for you and your loved ones. However, for the time being, we feel these steps are necessary to protect the patients in our care.

There are some exceptions to this updated policy. Pediatric patients will still be allowed to have one visitor with them throughout their treatment. We also understand there may be situations where it is appropriate for patients in the ICU to have family members visit. In these situations, we will work with families on case by case basis to ensure we are making the right decisions to take care of your family and protect our other patients and team members.

We recognize some of our patients may need assistance from a companion to get into and around the hospital. In these situations, we encourage family members to help patients enter the hospital lobby or emergency department waiting room. Our team will be able to help patients from here if they need extra help. We are asking patients to call their family members when they are done at the hospital. You can meet your loved one just outside the lobby or emergency department.

STAY CONNECTED FROM AFAR

We know how difficult it is to be apart from a loved one when they are not feeling well. We are encouraging all of our visitors to stay connected virtually. Please use FaceTime, Skype or phone calls to stay in touch and support patients while they are recovering in the hospital.

We appreciate your understanding. Your cooperation will help keep our patients, team members and community safe.
